Drop a melody. Hear it in Hicaz.

Load the demo phrase or drop a MIDI file to see each note move onto its perde.

How it works

  1. Write it on a piano roll. A piano has 12 notes per octave. Write your melody as you normally would. For Hicaz on A: A, B♭, C♯, D, E, F♯, G.
  2. Each note moves to its perde. Makam Studio places every note on its AEU pitch. In Hicaz, C♯ becomes nim hicaz, 15 cents lower. B♭ becomes dik kürdi, 13 cents higher.
  3. Take it into your DAW. Download MPE MIDI, pitch-bend MIDI, or an Ableton tuning file. Nothing is uploaded: the conversion runs in your browser.
